Harvest and the gift of the Spirit
Seven weeks are counted from the firstfruits offering, leading to a harvest celebration on the fiftieth day. Jewish tradition also associates Shavuot with the giving of Torah at Sinai.
Its connection to Yeshua
Acts describes the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, another name for Shavuot. Through Messiah, the Spirit empowers His people to bear witness.
